Scoliosis Surgery

Surgery this summer:

We are again preparing my son for spine surgery. This surgery was scheduled for January of this year. However, I lost my Father the day after Thanksgiving and my daughter had emergency surgery the week before Christmas and by the time January rolled around I was emotionally and physically drained. The week following Christmas Alan and I both had strep throat and the flu at the same time!! He lost some weight that he couldn't afford to lose so lots of contributing factors delayed the surgery. We are now looking at having the surgery next month but the date isn't confirmed yet! He is better now and he actually weighs more now than he ever has. He has told me he is ready and he wants to have the surgery done. So... we are moving forward.

I have been told that the surgery itself will take nine to ten hours to perform. Then he will have a long and slow recovery process. I pray that God will bring us safely through this and bring us out on the other side much better off than we are now.

I would like to request prayers for the doctors and nurses for Alan's upcoming surgery. I would also like to request prayers for a full and speedy recovery for my little angel.

I have included photos of Alan at the Special Olympics event last week.
